無作為に与えれられた不自由な現実を生き抜くために、人は、この世界に一つずつ思い入れを増やしていって、それに寄りかかるのだと思います。それは物や建物かもしれないし、空間や景色かもしれないし、大事な人かもしれません。

その個別性を蹂躙・一掃し、誰かが必死に掴んだ思い入れをことごとく、理由もなく破壊するのが戦争だとしたら、私はこれに強く反対します。そのようなことが人間の手によって起こってはならないと、率直に思います。

In order to survive the arbitrary and inconvenient realities given to us, I believe people gradually develop attachments to various things in this world, leaning on them for support. It can be objects, buildings, spaces, scenery, or important individuals.

If war is defined as trampling and sweeping away that individuality, and systematically destroying the attachments someone has desperately held onto without any reason, then I strongly oppose it. I sincerely believe that such things should not happen at the hands of humans.
